Dunki and Salaar (Hindi), as has been the pattern thus far, have been performing well at the movie office, though it is impossible to call the collection a blockbuster. The year 2023 was filled with incredible days, one after another, as several movies became all-time mega-blockbusters, making it appear easy to make Rs. 30 crores, Rs. 40 crores, or Rs. 50 crores in a single day. During significant national holidays, revenue exceeding 60 or 70 crores was received.

Therefore, when the total revenue from Dunki and Salaar (Hindi) approaches that strange amount of Rs. 35 crores, it undoubtedly appears lower. Some of the true blockbuster movies from before the pandemic brought in far more money in a single day. Not only has the market been split between Dunki and Salaar (Hindi), but the target audience’s perceptions also differ. Because of this, the collections fall short of the high expectations that were held.

Dunki earned* Rs. 23 crores, which is good given it truly needed to bring in at least Rs. 20 crores. The same is true for Salaar, which earned Rs. 13.50 crores in the Hindi version despite needing to maintain its double-digit run. While neither of the two films has achieved spectacular success, they are also neither soft targets, which would allow the other movie to get some momentum. Before entering Week 2, Dunki, which is valued at Rs. 128.63 crores, and Salaar (Hindi), valued at Rs. 65 crores, would like to reach the Rs. 150 crores and Rs. 100 crores milestones, respectively.
